In 2024, travel industry events were very much physical, in-person occasions, with professionals traveling around the world for the communication benefits of meeting face to face. What is the place for online event technology in this reconnected world?
Dragon Trail’s TNTM virtual events platform was essential to keep exhibitions and roadshows going during the pandemic years. Now, it’s making offline events more successful by supporting travel brands to register, find partners, and do business. Let’s take a look at four travel industry events in 2024 that used Dragon Trail’s TNTM platform to provide essential support for offline meetings.
Guangzhou International Travel Fair
May 16-18 | Guangzhou, China
The 32nd Guangzhou International Travel Fair complemented their offline exhibition by using TNTM as a matchmaking platform for business meetings. This platform was used by more than 300 buyers, 150 exhibitors, and 100 professional visitors. Buyers and exhibitors found each other through the platform, and those that successfully matched then scheduled meetings. The system helped facilitate more than 2,000 business meetings, helping professional attendees to organize their time and participation in the show. Data collected by the TNTM platform also helped GITF’s organizers to better anticipate attendance, understand event attendees and their business aims, and create optimized plans for venue management.
APAC Travel Marketplace
October 15-16 | Abu Dhabi, UAE
The organizer of the APAC Travel Marketplace in Abu Dhabi used Dragon Trail’s TNTM exhibition system to complete attendees’ online registration and business appointments. The system was used by more than 200 buyers and 70 exhibitors, with more than 2,300 appointments made. The business matchmaking system was powered by AI. After setting labels and label matching guidelines for buyers and exhibitors, the system completed automatic matching and appointment scheduling. The AI intelligent matching feature ensured that the most suitable participants were paired up for meetings, greatly improving efficiency and saving time for attendees.
Scandinavian Roadshow China
October 28-November 1 | Beijing, Chengdu, and Shanghai, China
The tourism boards of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden came together to organize a three-city roadshow in China this autumn, attracting more than 130 buyers and 40 exhibitors. They used the TNTM platform for attendees to complete event registration and business matchmaking, with more than 900 appointments booked. The event organizers also used TNTM ahead of the roadshow to collect exhibitors’ hotel and flight booking information, and easily generate invitation letters to help exhibitors quickly apply for their Chinese visas, effectively ensuring the exhibitors’ attendance rate and satisfaction with the exhibition services.
Spain Tourism Summit China
November 20-22 | Shanghai, China
The Spanish tourism board’s November 2024 tourism summit in Shanghai brought together more than 50 Chinese buyers with 30 Spanish exhibitors. Registration, matchmaking, and appointment scheduling was all conducted on the TNTM platform, with more than 1,200 meetings scheduled. Ahead of the event opening, the organizer exported the full appointment schedule with one click and distributed it to attendees to ensure that everything ran smoothly onsite.
